AMOT Controls has successfully installed and EExd hazardous area lift system for a chemical plant in Warrington, Cheshire. Amot's systems division took a standard lift system and converted all the standard control boxes with aluminium EExd boxes and EExe junction boxes. The hazardous area lift system was deemed necessary because of the manufacture of sodium hydroxide which, if exposed to atmosphere and anything
organic, such as clothes or humans, it self ignites. One teardrop in a 45 gallon drum of water is equal in strength to household bleach!
