After AMOT Controls supplied solutions to difficult cooling system problems for Stena ships built in Spain, the customer was so pleased that he awarded AMOT the contract for three sister Ro-Ro ferries being built in China, specifying AMOT 'G' control valves.

The order was for temperature control systems for engine oil and jacket water, including applications for pump room cooling systems and injector nozzle cooling. It seemed straightforward until the specification changed from individual controls to a centralised control system while the valves were being manufactured.

AMOT proved that its expertise in producing control panels was fully matched by its ability to adapt to changing customer requirements by handling the alterations and supplying the complete solution without delay.The 12,300 dwt ships have now been commissioned and handed over.

The control panels contained 14 special AMOT 8071 PID controllers with 4-20mA valve position feedback and also 14 Model 8073 high power relay modules.The panels terminated in a common rail system enabling easy customer connection and commissioning.

This success story is a tribute to the excellent liaison between AMOT's network of offices and representatives, the close contact maintained between manufacturer and end-user, and the reliability of the 'G' control valve system.
